Some personal thoughts for me to reflect on. Those who have alcoholic parents, they should have never had you.
Now hear me out. I do not mean any harm by what I just said. Alcoholic’s are selfish people. To have children and inflict emotion or physical pain on them is unjust. If they choose to waist their money on booze and cigarettes, then why have children?
Me and you would have been better off. To have someone so selfish in your life to never think of slimming down their intake, isn’t right.
I suggest don’t get emotionally attached, if they fall, don’t help them back up. You are not their only hope, they lost all hope long ago.

Obama Is The New Definition Of Hope

What I mean is, exactly what I say in the title. But it’s not my personal thoughts. Just like any other president, he’ll make changes, bad or good and he’ll leave an impression of himself in our history books. Every president has tried their best. Or so I would hope.

For Obama himself, he’s already in the history books, just for being the first black president. Which is wonderful. My view of this is, he’s sending a message of change and a chance for other backgrounds to try for becoming president. Heck why not a Chinese president or even someone straight from India? Regarded they need to know what they’re doing.

I think Obama also gives everyone that little spark saying to their hearts, “No matter what your life situation is now, you can move things around for yourself and become something better.”

Well who knows maybe we’ll have nothing but black presidents from here on out. The world needs to change and accepting other backgrounds is the great way to do it.

But for those who may put a little too much of their hope into Obama, don’t. He’s not superman. He can only fix what he’s able to. Just like anyone else he’ll be making mistakes or completing important goals. But one man can only do so much. But I’m sure the support of America and Canada will give him enough courage for if he were ever to have doubts in himself.

Well it’s time to break out your gifts and toss open your arms for your lovers. Happy Valentines day to you all.
For those who are single, have fun hunting or just celebrating being single. Cause some trouble! I’ll root you on. Just don’t go shooting down malls because you have no one. Happy Anti-valentines day to you.

I personally will never go out of my way to say Happy Valentines day to a boyfriend or a short term girlfriend. But for two years now I’ve had a boyfriend who’s supported me and still loved me when I had those moments I wanted to push him away. He’s even loved me enough for eating chocolate once a month and bitch about how much I hate the taste. I may not be out buying a gift for him, but I can make up for that by just letting him be cuddly.

Just As Gross, Completely Unsanitary!

This I promise you, will be mild compared to what I have seen. I cannot compare how filthy boys washrooms are to girls. But I can surly complain and it’ll be short. Believe me! It’s a myth that the women’s washroom is cleaner!

Constantly on the back of toilets I’ve seen women leave folded up pads and tampon applicators. Gross. This can spread diseases. I’m sure everyone can agree with me this isn’t very sanitary.

For the women out there that do this, you know who you are. If there is no bin next to the toilet or a wall trash can, don’t leave it on the back of the toilet! Wrap it up in tissue and throw it out in the can next to the sink.

I do not want to have to kick those off the back of the toilet and onto the floor just so I can pee. It makes it look like I left it there after I’m done. The custodian workers as well have to clean up after you, make their job easier and throw it away yourself.

I see that women who may do this are too embarrassed to walk out of the stall with a wad of tissue, may do this. But then again, get over it. We’ve all made the mistake of sitting in a stall without a wall trash can. And also I can understand the other reason why women do this, they’re lazy and don’t care about what kind of germs are already in the bathroom. So they wish to add their own. These are probably the women who don’t wash their hands. Well please, for the sake of my shoes and gag reflex, don’t be lazy!

Separatist of Quebec

I have given this almost as much thought as to what I’m going to have for breakfast. I’ll stand there in front of the fridge, cupboard or shelf, hearing suggestions I really don’t pay much attention to.

It’s just another thing I remember hearing while growing up, along with global warming and the Pandas are STILL endanger. I know other then the French- Canadian’s actually saying this on T.v. it’s still thought of as a rumor.

My mum grew up in Thunder bay having to hear a French- Canadian shout up and down the streets, “Free Quebec.” My mum grew to hate this one guy. Which I find a little funny. This man was in the next province over, causing a public disturbance in Ontario, while living in Ontario too. I probably would have tripped him and tell him to shout at a more decent time. Or would that be too harsh?

I understand not all the French want to rid of us Canadians, but if this isn’t a rumor I think the ones that wish to separate should be ashamed. Canada is a great country. Canada is pretty peace keeping, that everyone knows. But what would drive the French- Canadians to want such a thing? Is there something I do not know. I’d love to hear your side of the story. Were you denied funds from the government?

French-Canadian’s don’t speak actual French anyways. Just like American’s don’t speak the same English as the people from England would. They both have been aultered just a little. I don’t know what this has to do with my rambling. But I’m just shooting out random facts I suppose.

Ghosts Are The Next Circus Folk

Growing up, I quickly found out my mum was a big believer in ghosts. I, myself am both a skeptic and a believer. My mum has told me my Amma never talked about idea of ghosts. My Amma probably thought the idea was rubbish, but mislead my mother into thinking her daughter can see ghosts. (But, no. I’m just a big baby when there isn’t any source of light for me to use)

When I was a kid I hated the idea of something known as an invisible force to me, could push their way around and make us humans tremble. It didn’t matter if these ghosts were reaching out for help or were here to help us, I wanted them all gone.

I’ve always been drawn to the dark areas of my house, expecting my Afi or Amma to jump out to give me a loving ghostly kiss on the cheek. The thing that makes me a believer is that I’ve had my own “encounters”. These encounters and my gifted imagination every writer recieves helped me to think that maybe there is something else. Maybe I just need to reach out and let my fuzzy mind force my legs to walk closer.

But I am very logical, down to Earth person. I know reality. This the part were being a skeptic jumps in. Ghost’s don’t exist. They’re like circus folk with make up on. Once that make up is washed off they easily go back to what they were before. It’s just like the roles they played never existed.

I believe something with no weight or mass can move things or speak to us. It’s all in our heads. How can an invisible force, other than wind, allow things to move across the table. Our eyes and ears betray us. Our chilled nerves make us really think that someone is watching. (And yes I’m basically saying angels and god will never be real.)

For kicks, I watch paranormal shows for kicks. They always bring in psychis, priests and people who claim they’ve come in contact with ghosts. I’ve never seen a paranormal show where there isn’t a bible in hand or a cross on the wall that magically flips over on it’s own. Usually there will be a woman that cries because she fears her children will get hurt.

But that is not the point. Put down the bible and cut out the camera tricks. Make sure to push that psychi out the door and tell her to cut the crap. The point I’m getting to is why over hype everything? I enjoy a good ghost story, but everything I’ve listed only sucks the joy out of it.

Do you think I’m wrong? (other than no actual evidence. that would be an endless battle.)

Canadian By Birth

I’ve always enjoyed learning what I could about the Icelandic language and my heritage on my Scottish side. I have a large family of Thirlwalls and a castle in Ruins that shares my last name. I’ve learned there is a woman in London and in New castle that share my first and last name. It’s interesting. One only has that name from marriage, as I have mine from birth. But the other I still have yet to talk to the other one.

But that is not the point. I do tend to ramble. It only partly explains what I mean. I’ve always lived in Canada and I’m here by birth. I’ve always longed to leave it for other great travels, but I have never taken the time to sit and learn about how my family got here. I hardly have taken the time to know my history and Canada’s history.

USA Map

I’m a Canadian girl, so I don’t look at the American map on my own as much as I would if I were in my American history or Geography class. But that isn’t really my point. I’m just here to state the obvious. (no pun intended)

But I’ve come to notice how jumbled the state borders are. The outline of Texas catches my eyes the most, so interesting and I cannot figure out what it reminds me of! But it makes me laugh.

I’ve enjoyed my classes in Geography of filling out states and capital cites. It leaves me to wonder how many more small towns are left uncharted on a very detailed map. (more words then colored rivers and background.)

Anyways it’s been brought to my attention as to why they call it the UNITED STATES of America. It’s a lovely collage of culter, history (a vibrant history, some things done I don’t agree with but we’ve learned from that history), food, sights, and a never ending shortage of people who enjoy politics at this moment.

I’ve taken my American History and Geography classes to help educate myself of my southern neighbors. I’d like to visit or crash on someone’s couch in the states, just to get that full experience of traveling around all the states. My ideal ones at the moment are New York (what writer does not dream of that? I’m sooo original) and Texas would be nice. Those are the ones I grew up hearing about the most from watching crime shows and King of the Hill.

Tornado Alley is one of the most interesting things (weather wise) I’ve heard about the states. Oh all the lovely photographs I could take and on top of that the adrenalin rush I’d receive. I’ve seen my fair share of wall clouds and rotation, here in Winnipeg. But I’ve never seen one land on the ground. I pray that I won’t any time soon. At least not where I live.

One last thought:
I really have nothing bad to say about the USA, now that George W. Bush is no longer in the white house. Though that has nothing to do with America it’s self. I’m mostly talking about one person. But I was caught up in the media and news about the conspiracy rumors flying around. So he tried his best….? I would not be sure what is fully the truth. So I will not start anything. I wish Obama the best of luck and don’t put too much pressure on the guy. He’s giving it his all.

So one question for those who read this, is there ANY American’s at all learning about Canada??
